Tear gas billowed through the air outside the Broadview ICE facility in suburban Chicago Saturday as clashes intensified between protesters and federal agents.
The escalation came hours after President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi announced plans to deploy more agents to cities with ongoing ICE protests.
NBC Chicago reported a surge of federal presence around 7 p.m., with roughly 100 agents on site. Arrests were made. By 8:30 p.m., loud booms and heavy tear gas were reported as agents ordered the crowd to disperse.
