🌧️ 🌈Let’s Make some DIY Rainsticks 💧🌈
🎶 In honor of World Children’s Music Day, Max and I got creative and made our own rainstick! 🌧️✨ He loved hammering in the nails (with help, of course 😉) and had the best time painting and decorating it. We actually discovered you can make musical instruments out of almost anything at home — we also turned empty cans into xylophone and even made a drum from a bowl covered in vinyl and tape. It’s such a fun way to play with sound, get messy with paint, and turn it all into an art project.
DIY Rainstick How-To:
• Start with a poster tube (or paper towel / gift wrap tube — anything sturdy works)
• Hammer in small nails first — we did bands of nails and then added a few random ones for extra sound
• Wrap masking tape around the outside to lock nails safely in place
• Pour in just a little rice or beans (less is more for that gentle rain sound)
• Tape the ends closed and paint & decorate however you like 🎨🎶
🌟 Quick tip: The more nails ...
