This is-hands down- my BIGGEST Rooster this year!! 🙌🔥💪 Getting a worthy picture with this thing was a chore on multiple levels…To start with, I’m 6’7..so any fish I hold automatically looks small..😂 Second, the water being so warm means it holds less oxygen and fish survival goes south really quickly, so you get less than 1 min before seriously risking the fish. A fish this size should never be held/handled any way but horizontally and fully supported. Any sort of gill holds on a fish this size almost certainly cause permanent damage. I got to spend as much time as I could with him in the water that evening until he kicked off strong enough that I couldn’t hold him. Having landed and handled thousands of these fish, this is one of the experiences that stands out and I am super grateful for!!
