Chimney Rock is such a cool place if you’re interested in Native American history! Here are a few other things to know: 📍 Chimney Rock is about 25 minutes from Pagosa Springs and about 1 hour from Durango 🎟️ the National Monument is managed by the USFS and is a fee site. You can get in for free with your National Park (interagency) pass, which is what I did. ☀️ It is open seasonally and at only certain times of day - Mid May to Mid October and from 9am-4:30 PM daily in 2025. 🚐 Use the quarter mile entry road to judge if you’re comfortable riding the 2.5 miles of gravel to the top. It’s steep and a little loose + washboarded in some sections. If you’re not feelin’ it, the USFS provides a shuttle for free. 🚫 Don’t be a turd and step off the designated pathways or vandalize the ruins. #chimneyrocknationalmonument #colorado #durangocolorado #pagosasprings #southwestcolorado
