Today we bid a heartfelt farewell to our City Librarian and Executive Director, Michelle Jeske, as she steps down after nearly a decade of visionary leadership—and 23 years of dedicated service to the Denver Public Library. Since 2001, Michelle has helped shape DPL into the dynamic, inclusive, and innovative institution it is today.
From expanding our branch footprint and eliminating overdue fines to guiding us through a pandemic, Michelle’s leadership has transformed how we serve our city. Most notably, her work to secure $37 million in sustainable annual funding has allowed us to expand hours, reduce wait times, offer more programs, and increase pay for nearly half our staff. Her impact will be felt for years to come.
As she steps into her next chapter—her “jubilation”—we give Michelle her flowers for all she’s done for our library and our city. 📚💐
Thank you, Michelle, for your incredible dedication to DPL and Denver. We wish you joy and success in your next chapter!
