If you’re in Mexico City, Puebla is a must see day trip or even better, spend a couple nights like I did. It is only about two and a half hours away. Puebla is a gorgeous colonial city with incredible architecture. I also visited Cholula while I was there for the archeological sites. Getting there was simple. I took a taxi, a bus, then another taxi to my hostel. Quick tip: I used Didi, a rideshare app like that's popular in Mexico and that I typically swear by. If you are paying cash, always take a photo or video of yourself handing over the money. My driver claimed I never paid him and Didi actually sided with him because I didn't have evidence od the transaction. Overall, it was a super easy travel day, just me and my backpack for two nights.
