I realized later that the 8” size like this is actually $120 to order! 📝 COCONUT CAKE PART 1 - CAKE LAYERS: ⊳ I reduced sugar to 75% = 1.5C or 300g ⊳ I used unsweetened shredded coconut rather than sweetened version ⊳ baked in 8” pans (next time I wanna split into 3 x 8” layers) ⊳ smaller pan normally means longer time bc batter is deeper but mine were done at 40 mins (always check doneness earlier than stated time) ⊳ many ppl asked in the chocolate cake video: I wrap wet (drenched!) kitchen towel strips around the cake pans before adding batter. the steam helps distribute heat more evenly which leads to less doming of cake tops ⊳ I lightly toasted the shredded coconut and applied to the sides only, and needed way less than recipe amount comment “COCONUT” for the link to Ina’s recipe sent to your DMs COCONUT CAKE PART 2 video...
