UK Black History Month: Edward Enninful
Edward Kobina Enninful, born on February 22, 1972, is a Ghanaian-born British editor, stylist, and cultural force who has reshaped notions of fashion, representation, and power in the media industry. He was discovered as a model at 16 and, just two years later, became the youngest ever fashion director at i-D magazine. Over the decades he collaborated with major publications (including Vogue Italia, W magazine) and brands, before making history in 2017 as the first Black man to be appointed Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue. In 2023 he stepped into a global advisory role within Condé Nast, expanding his influence across international editorial and creative domains.
