Scotland might be out of the Women's Rugby World Cup after their best campaign since 2002, but grassroots rugby for women and girls is thriving at clubs like Bishopton RFC, paving the way for the next generation and showing how National Lottery funding is transforming women’s rugby at a local level across Scotland. 🏉
Since launching their women’s section in 2018, Bishopton RFC in Renfrewshire has created inclusive pathways through contact rugby and non-contact Touch, alongside initiatives like subsidised kit and community support to ensure every girl and woman can take part.
With £750,000 of annual funding through sportscotland, Bishopton RFC is a clear example of how grassroots investment builds champions and strengthens women’s rugby across Scotland.
