Officials report that there were no injuries or fatalities. ____________________________________ According to abc7ny, the incident occurred just after 8 am at NYCHA’s Mitchel Houses in the #MottHaven section of the Bronx. The explosion caused the 17-story building’s incinerator shaft to collapse. There were no apartments affected by the explosion, as the rest of the building appeared to be stable. ____________________________________ Residents were evacuated from the apartment building and sent to a nearby community center while the building was evaluated.
