At the U.S. Air Force Academy, we’re forging leaders who will defend our nation from future threats. As we seek to inspire the next generation of warrior-leaders, it is our duty to share the stories of courage, resilience, and resolve that emerged from 9/11 and in the days and decades that followed.   Our 9/11 memorial, featuring a piece of the World Trade Center and granite slabs representing the Twin Towers atop a five-sided foundation symbolizing the Pentagon, serves as a powerful reminder of the events of September 11, 2001, the lives that were lost that day, and those who have served and sacrificed in the 24 years since.   It was an honor to gather at the memorial today, with teammates from across the @af_academy, to reflect on the significance of that day, and reaffirm our collective commitment to being and developing leaders who will protect our nation and uphold its values.
