Legacy Week Faculty Spotlight: Mauro Villanueva This week, we are honored to feature Mauro Villanueva 5678.mauro , whose 13-year career with The Joffrey Ballet included performing an extraordinary range of works by some of the world’s most renowned choreographers. In addition to his artistry on stage, Mauro also served as a union representative and was one of two artists entrusted with helping to select a new artistic director—shaping the company’s future beyond performance. Mauro’s versatility has carried him to stages across the country with companies including Barak Ballet (now Los Angeles Ballet), Ballet San Antonio, and Intermezzo Dance Company. His passion for teaching has led him to work with institutions such as the Colburn School, North Carolina School of the Arts, and The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory, while completing training programs at both Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and the School of American Ballet.
