God has a way of placing people in your life when you need them the most. At a time where my own father had passed away, Maurice stepped up to be my dad. He was always honest & direct, and always provided a judgement free space to for me to share my unfiltered thoughts and feelings in any regard. He taught me how to be the best man, father & husband I could be, not only because I was dating his daughter, but because this is how he approached all the young men he’s been a mentor and father figure to over his amazing life. I can’t put into words how much our relationship meant to me, knowing that he was a call or text away anytime I needed to talk through something, and I’m SO blessed that I was able to express my love for him, and tell him how much he’s meant to me over the past 16+ years.
