Berkeley’s famed chess club has now moved to Bancroft Way and Telegraph Avenue, following a restraining order against Jesse Sheehan, the chess club’s co-founder. The chess club relocated to its current location at Bancroft Way and Telegraph Avenue as a result of a judge ordering a three-year restraining order against Sheehan that was filed by Webcor, the general contractor for student housing in People’s Park. As a result, Sheehan is required to stay at least 100 yards away from the chess club’s previous location at Haste Street and Telegraph Avenue.
