On Tuesday, PATH to Care and University Health Services, or UHS, discontinued their 24/7 PATH to Care Care Line, which offered round-the-clock service to survivors of sexual violence and sexual harassment. The decision to close the service is due to limited staffing capacity within the center, and the loss of “a key community partner resource,” according to Elisa Huerta, associate vice chancellor of Community Engagement & Transformative Care in UC Berkeley’s Division of Equity and Inclusion, in an email. The line will now direct students to campus resources and emergency hotlines, according to Huerta.
