BREAKING: Austin ISD announced its proposed school consolidation and boundary changes this evening. Pictured above is a map representing the changes to McCallum’s boundary, starting during the 2026-2027 school year. Students living east of I-35 who are currently zoned to McCallum will be reassigned to attend Northeast Early College High School, and those living south of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will attend Eastside Early College High School. Additionally, students living north of 45th Street who are currently zoned to Austin High will attend McCallum, those living west of 360 and north of the river will attend Anderson High School, and those north of St. John’s Avenue, east of Lamar, south of 183 and west of 1-35 who are currently zoned to Navarro High School will also come to McCallum. 13 school buildings will be closed — 10 elementary schools, two middle schools and one Montessori program.
