Saraswati is the goddess of learning and the arts, and in this poem, translated by Tibetan scholar and translator Kelsang Lhamo, her beauty and the reverence held for her shines through.
"Radiant as a lotus upon a lotus throne,
Enchanting every mind, beloved in every heart,
O Goddess of exquisite form and youthful glow,
Today, I implore you lend me your veena. [...]"
