Legendary trans activist and Stonewall veteran Miss Major Griffin-Gracy has been hospitalised with sepsis and a blood clot, her partner Beck Witt Major confirmed. According to her partner, she has been in the hospital since 19 September. Miss Major, age 84, who first rose to prominence during the 1969 Stonewall uprising, has dedicated the last five decades to advocating for incarcerated transgender people particularly trans women of colour, who are often housed in men’s prisons, as she was. She served as the first executive director of the Transgender Gender-Variant and Intersex Justice Project. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to help cover her healthcare costs, with supporters across the trans and queer community rallying to assist. #MissMajorGriffinGracy #MissMajor #Stonewall #LGBTQIA #transgender #LGBTQNews
