Nearly 12,000 runners took to the streets of Portland on Sunday for the 53rd annual Portland Marathon.
The race took runners through several Portland landmarks, including the Waterfront Park and Reed College, and brushed past the outskirts of the Portland Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility, which has become the center of national controversy.
Portland City Council President Elana Pirtle-Guiney and Vice President Koyama Lane cheered runners on and shared this video on social media.
