With one injury on the court and in 90-degree heat, the girls JV tennis team persevered and defeated Blue Valley High School 12-0 in a dual on Monday, Sept. 29 at Harmon Park. Each player participated in two matches: one doubles and one singles match. To start the dual, assistant coach Brian Miller assigned partners and courts for the doubles matches. All four of the doubles matches ended with a score of 8-2 after a span of one hour. Going into the singles matches, with only six courts available, two players had to wait to play. During the 30-15 point of the eighth game of sophomore Maggie Roger’s singles match, she fell and tripped over her ankle. Rogers finished her match after two more points, resulting in an 8-1 win over her Blue Valley opponent. She then went to visit Athletic Trainer Dakota Orlando who advised her to be careful on the ankle for the next few days.
