Last week I upgraded to the iPhone 17 Pro (obviously had to grab the 🍊 one) and put it straight to work at the Ryder Cup on the weekend shooting for bdxmedia & bmw
Honestly… this thing is a powerhouse.
A few things that stood out right away:
🔸 Internal cooling: shot 60 + 120fps all weekend, zero overheating (even with the case on). Wayyy better than my 16 Pro.
🔸 8x zoom: we were mostly outside the ropes and I wanted to capture the raw fan energy/experience. Being able to go from 13mm wide to 200mm detail shots was a game changer.
🔸 Stabilizer: buttery smooth even walking around on 8x. Kinda wild. Honestly shoutout apple
🔸 USB-C workflow: plugged my crucial_memory X10 Pro SSD straight in, exported clips, edited on my laptop instantly. No quality loss, no wasted time for quick turnarounds.
🔸 iPhone Filmmaking rig: paired it with the polarpro iPhone filmmaking kit + VND 2-5 Black Mist filter to shoot clean + cinematic, while keeping that soft highlight glow we all love.
