✨🐾 All is not lost...
Each October, Re:wild and IUCNSSC celebrate
#LostSpeciesMonth, a time to spotlight some of the wild and wonderful species lost to science for at least 10 years – and often much longer.
It’s a time to celebrate rediscoveries that spark action and inspire us to protect species often overlooked. Some of the species rediscovered since the program's launch in 2017 include: the Fernandina Galápagos Tortoise, the De Winton's Golden Mole, the Jackson’s Climbing Salamander, the Big Puma Fungus, the Silver-backed Chevrotain, the Voeltzkow’s Chameleon, the Dusky Tetraka, and the Fagilde’s Trapdoor Spider — all rediscovered after seemingly vanishing.
Re:wild's Search for Lost Species is the largest-ever search for plants, animals, and fungi that are ll ost to science. Several of the rediscovered species featured in this video are on Re:wild's most wanted lost species list, which is supported by colossal Foundation.
Hope is alive in the wild!
