Cooking Up A Storm! . Excited to join Chef Nick once again to explore one of my favorite sound effects — the sound of rain! It’s quite difficult to record the sound of rain in a precise way, because 1) it needs to be raining and 2) rain is wet! So almost any time you hear rain in a cartoon or movie it’s usually the sound of something frying in a pan. Isn’t that cool? . If you concentrate just on the animated clip, you will experience an auditory illusion where your brain will slowly shift from hearing the sound as a sizzling steak to hearing it as rain. How cool!
