UC Irvine researchers are exploring AI-enhanced personalization for large, lecture hall classes in sustainability science. Creating tailored lesson plans based on student interests is a key goal of the project, a collaboration between informatics professor Bill Tomlinson, ICS colleagues Rebecca Black, Donald J. Patterson, Andre van der Hoek, and Julie Ferguson of the Earth System Science Department. “We’re aiming to use AI to make custom videos for college students learning about sustainability,” says Tomlinson, “matching their learning style and interests in an effort to increase engagement.” 🏛️ Research funded by nsf. #SpeakUp4Science
