Dorian and I attended instagram’s Screen Smart event, and it truly gave us a new perspective on what it means to guide our kids online. We walked away with so many valuable takeaways: 1️⃣ Delay social media as long as you can—and when the time comes, sit down and get curious about your child’s “why.” What do they hope to find there? What are they excited (or nervous) about? It’s not just about saying “yes” or “no”—it’s about understanding the deeper conversation. 2️⃣ Create and model healthy screen boundaries at home. For us it’s screen-free meals, charging phones outside bedrooms, and having tech “off” hours.
