Never forget how far you’ve come Like many of us I struggle with comparing myself to my “peak” physique more often than I’d like, not always letting myself remember the reasons I fell from my “peak” in the first place, whether it was due to sickness or depression, or depression from being to sick to eat and train at my usual intensity. I’ve been humbled by life many many times and losing visible progress was always the hardest pill to swallow. But those were challenges God needed to put me through to remind me I can’t do any of this without him who gives me strength in my mental and physical battles. This past year I’ve reflected a lot on where I derived my strength and drive from, and it wasn’t always the right things, not that they were bad, but it wasn’t always deriving from Him. I thank God for the challenges he let come my way, the moments I’ve been so broken down mentally and physically because I’ve been able to find him in a deeper way at the bottom.
