Our favorite camping locations often lie under a dark sky, far from large, well-lit cities. This makes them ideal places to go stargazing. We visit such a spot on Saint George Island State Park. There, the Astronomical Society of Bay County is partnering with the park to apply for an International DarkSky Park designation. Society members Richard Millet and Marvin "Skip" Marlin talk about why the park fits the DarkSky International criteria, and share a few tips for stargazing, whether or not you find yourself under a truly dark sky. Read more, including stargazing tips, on the WFSU Ecology Blog: blog.wfsu.org/blog-coastal-health/2025/08/stargazing-the-dark-sky-over-saint-george-island
