(Sound up) Because of the tens of thousands of Palestinians civilians killed in Gaza over the past two years by the IDF, because of the starvation and wholesale destruction in Gaza and its entire infrastructure, it's easy to forget that while 10/7 was the bloodiest single day is Israeli history, "October 7th" was really a rolling series of Palestinian attacks that lasted for days afterwards. For days, really through that first week, thousands of rockets rained on Israel and Hamas and other terrorists were still running around parts of southern Israel. And for those of us who had spent years reporting on the Middle East it was shocking that Israeli military, even three or four days later, had not gained full supremacy of its own sovereign territory.
