🇪🇸 plasticfreeibiza and Formentera by ibizapreservation    Spain leads the EU in daily plastic waste, and Ibiza and Formentera face an escalating crisis 🏝 The plastic ban in the Balearics, in theory, makes it illegal for businesses to sell single-use plastics but it is not properly enforced.     ️IbizaPreservation is empowering local businesses with a certification scheme to incentivize the elimination single-use plastics and promote sustainable alternatives. Since June 2023, 20 businesses have started the Plastic-free certification process, 100 engaged in awareness workshops, and four beach clean-ups have removed over 420 kg of plastic! 💙
