I’ve always been afraid of the dark, yet somehow, I fell in love with skating at night. Each time, I had no idea what the road ahead would hold. All I could see was the stretch illuminated by the van’s headlights, and all I could do was keep moving toward that light. I couldn’t have done those night skates without my team or without Cassie, who rode alongside me when the others needed to work. Together, we pushed through every shadow, every mile.
