IRON ORCHARD (Authentic) did just that Saturday at the Belmont at the Big A meeting, gritting it out to win the GI Frizette Stakes by a nose over Rileytole with Joel Rosario up.
The race is part of the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Dozen series, while also awarding the winner 10 points on the Road to the 2026 Kentucky Oaks.
The Danny Gargan trainee is now a perfect 3-for-3 in her career so far, going from MSW winner to Listed Stakes winner and now, Grade I winner. The 2-year-old filly has earned $352,000.
“I think with the way she ran today, maybe in the future she might be able to go two turns, but I’m just happy with how it went today.”
Owned by CSLR Racing Partners and R. A. Hill Stable, Iron Orchard was bred by Pine Ridge Stable LLC.
