At Straus Family Creamery, we’ve spent decades building a sustainable, organic farming community rooted in environmental stewardship and humane animal treatment. All of the dairy cows on our 13 supplying dairy farms are pasture-raised, antibiotic- and hormone-free, and fed 100% organic, non-GMO feed. Measure J’s cap on livestock operations would have devastating consequences. The impact of any reduction of size or number of farms in Western Sonoma County would ripple through our rural communities, including harming service industries like veterinarians and suppliers who care for and feed animals. Small family farms, including those in our network, risk being forced out of business.
