"Because of cancer, I never got to dance with my daddy at my wedding. But three years before we lost him, we danced at the Honky Tonks in downtown Nashville, and boy did we have a FUN time! 🎶🎸🤠 I’d heard stories about how “wild” my daddy was back in the 1970s, but that night was the first time I really saw him let loose. He led me across those dance floors with so much joy. This photo, taken by my mom, who had overcome her own cancer journey a few years earlier, is one of my favorites. In my 20s, I never imagined watching one parent survive cancer and, just a few years later, saying goodbye to the other because of it. Even though my daddy was gone long before he could meet his grandkids, he’ll never be forgotten. I’ll keep sharing his stories — stories of love, strength, and the legacy he left behind. He taught me one of the greatest lessons I still hold on to today: “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” This Father’s Day, I’...
