Scrubs and Tiaras 🩺👑
Recently, the uriwomenscenter hosted the first Spill the Tea event of the semester, featuring Miss Rhode Island USA and proud Rhody alumna Brianna Vega ’19.
An OB/GYN nurse, personal trainer, and community advocate, Brianna shared her story of perseverance through nursing school and the Miss Rhode Island competition. At URI, she was a TDNation68 Scholar, resident assistant, orientation leader, and held leadership roles in URI.LSA (formerly LASA)—experiences she credits with helping her build confidence, embrace her voice, and champion mentorship, representation, and her commitment to empowering women to feel strong, supported, and seen.
Next, Brianna will represent Rhode Island at the 2025 Miss USA pageant in Reno, Nevada beginning on Oct. 18—continuing to inspire others as she brings her values of advocacy and empowerment to the national stage.
Special thanks to everyone who joined us in welcoming Brianna back to campus!
