After spending 2 years chasing foliage in the Northeast, this is the exact route I’d take to see peak colors 🍂 The trick is going north to south. Northern Maine and New Hampshire peak first in late September → Vermont and Massachusetts in early October → Connecticut, Rhode Island, and NYC by mid-to-late October. Following this route stretches the season so you don’t miss peak foliage. Constantly check Instagram Stories for foliage updates. You might be in an area where foliage is at its peak but drive 2 hours away and the leaves are gone. The last thing you want is to drive to a destination hours away to miss out on peak colors.
