Beating the Canes in Raleigh? A big task if you ask the Devils 😬
Since 2018, PNC Arena/Lenovo Center has been as house of horrors for this New Jersey team as they’ve struggled immensely to keep up with the Hurricanes style of play when at home. They’re just 2-17-1 on the road in NC since early March 2018 (regular season + playoffs), with their two victories on 11/2/19 & 1/10/23.
Dougie Hamilton put it best postgame last night following the loss in the season opener, “we’re going to have to figure out how to beat them in this rink if we want to do anything good this year.” When ahead Head Coach Sheldon Keefe was asked how his club can stop Carolina’s aggressive forecheck, “We just gotta break out. We gotta breakout, get through the neutral zone.”
New Jersey will welcome the Hurricanes to Newark twice in January, but will return back to Raleigh on March 29th in Game No. 72 on the season.
