My dad was born and raised in Long Beach. We came back here to start organizing 50 years of film he’s kept in storage about his band, WAR. The same band that just got their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Standing here, he can point to the church where he learned drums in ‘57, the post office where he took his Marine Corps test, even the port where his father worked the day he was born. Full circle.
