On Thursday, October 8th, Hiram College announced the hiring of Anna Hamid as the head coach of the new women’s ice hockey program, which will become the Terriers’ 26th varsity program and is set to begin competition for the 2026-2027 season. Hamid, a 2023 graduate of SUNY Cortland in Sport Management, played for the Red Dragons compiling an 11-2 record in the crease with three shutouts and one assist. She currently holds the women’s ice hockey program record for lowest-career GAA (1.23) and is second-place in career SV% (.928). She began her coaching career after graduating with her alma mater serving as a student assistant where the Red Dragons won the their first-ever #SUNYAC championship and made their first appearance in the #NCAA Tournament in the 2023-2024 season. It was the first season that the SUNYAC held a women’s ice hockey playoff.
