#PressPlay: A single mother in Florida says her local
#HOA is threatening legal action against her 5-year-old son — all because he swung on a tree while waiting at the school bus stop.
#ArielBarner says she’s lived in her
#Orlando neighborhood for just six months when the HOA president allegedly began watching her kids from afar, later issuing a violation notice accusing her son of being a “public nuisance.” She was then slapped with a $382 legal bill for damages they claim he caused by climbing a magnolia tree and “touching a rock.”
Barner isn’t the only one speaking out. In this episode of
#TSRInvestigates, other Black homeowners across the country are sharing similar HOA horror stories, raising bigger questions about power, race, and homeowners’ rights.
