Time flies! Fall is here again, and we are revving up for the Fall Conference this week where ETAs will reflect on their experience and enjoy cultural excursions before they enter the last couple of months of the grant year. It’s also the prime time to plan a visit to Mungyeong and taste the harvest of the omija berry, harvested from September through early October. Omija (오미자) berries are also referred to as the five-flavor berry since Omi" means "five flavors" - salty, sweet, sour, pungent (spicy), and bitter. The berry is also known for its medicinal properties with health benefits including strengthening the liver as well as preventing and treating coughs.
