It was an honor to premiere my new film OWE THEM VICTORY this weekend as part of the calmrowing 150th Anniversary Celebration. Told through the stories of a handful of people who have been deeply impacted by—and had a deep impact on—Cal Men’s Rowing, it is less a definitive history than a love letter to a team that has meant so much to thousands of us over the last century and a half. So many people contributed to making this film. An incredible group of people sat to tell their stories for this film. Even more people contributed archival materials that span the entire history of the program. Special shoutout to first-time producer (!) mc__handler for shepherding this film from start to finish and all the dirty work that made it possible. photophilbriggs and the entire crew made the film as gorgeous as it is.
