The senior class recently visited Children's Hospital Colorado to build the DJDS Sukkah, a special tradition that provides a place of peace and celebration for patients, families, doctors, and community members at the hospital. During their visit, students met with the chief chaplain of Children's Hospital, Joshua Whistler, who spoke about how the spiritual needs of patients and families are met. Seniors also volunteered in the main lobby, making paper chains and coloring decorations with visitors and patients at the hospital. The DJDS Sukkah built and decorated by the students will be used by patients and their families as well as hospital staff at Children's Hospital and UCHealth. This was not only a big mitzvah, but a very special and meaningful experience for the senior class. This year we also had a surprise visitor, Colorado Rockies mascot Dinger!
