Happy 14th birthday to resident Polar bear, Hudson 🐻‍❄️ 🎈 Do you remember? Hudson, following a brief stay at Assiniboine Park Zoo, returned to Toronto and continues to grow to the delight of our Wildlife Care team and guests. Long-time Zoo guests will also remember that in 2011, we began an exciting, yet nerve-racking journey in hand-raising the first polar bear cub from birth at your Toronto Zoo. Arriving to the Zoo's Wildlife Health and Science Centre at just a day old, Zoo staff cared for Hudson around the clock for his first 107 days of life. Reminiscing about his days as a small cub, Hudson showcased an overwhelming sense of will. He pulled through many ups and downs during his first month of life and watched him become the incredibly beautiful Polar bear he is today. Fast forward to today, and as a playful, adolescent male, his favourite enrichment items are sticks and twigs.
