Parolee Arrested After Dangerous Pursuit in Newhall On Sunday 10/05/25 at approximately 3:00 p.m, Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driving the wrong way on Newhall Avenue at high speed. The driver refused to yield, recklessly evading deputies and driving against traffic, violating 2800.2(a) and 2800.4 CVC. The suspect fled on foot after abandoning the vehicle near Canyon Crest Drive. A female passenger was detained safely, and deputies later identified the suspect, who was on active parole for burglary. Today at approximately 2:00 p.m, SCV Station’s Crime Impact Team, working alongside California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, tracked the suspect to Van Nuys. Following an in-depth investigation and coordinated operation, the suspect was arrested without incident.
