How many of us stop running when we get injured? I’ve learned a lot now that I brought in a professional who’s built a rehab program to not only make the pain go away but to fix the root of the problem. Avoiding miles won’t heal your Achilles, loading it the right way will. The answer isn’t less running. In fact, stopping completely will only hide the pain - the moment you’re back out there running, the issue is very likely to come back and hit you harder. I speak from experience. I’m not new to Achilles problems and I’m to blame! Man, it was me who neglected it for a long time. Achilliles tendonitis is caused by overuse, sudden change in volume or intensity, and tight or weak muscles.
