All telescopes turned to Titan! 👀 Saturn’s moon Titan is the only moon in the Solar System with a dense atmosphere – and also the only planetary body other than Earth that currently has rivers, lakes, and seas! 🌊 Unlike on Earth, however, the liquid on its surface is composed of hydrocarbons like methane and ethane, and its atmosphere is filled with a thick haze. The images captured with the #NIRCam instrument aboard the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope reveal features of Titan’s atmosphere – the one on the left uses a filter sensitive to its lower atmosphere while the one in the right is a colour composite image. In the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope images, light and dark features over the surface of Titan can be seen.
