The Harvest Moon is here 🌕 On 6 October 2025, the Moon rises in all its brilliance, marking the closest full Moon to the autumn equinox. For millennia, this lunar light guided farmers through the harvest season and today, it continues to guide humankind in a new way. As part of the @nasaartemis program, we’re building the European Service Module that powers the Orion spacecraft, enabling astronauts to travel around the Moon and beyond. With every mission, we’re preparing to return humanity to the lunar surface — sustainably, together, and for good. In this carousel, the close-up views of the lunar surface were captured by cameras mounted on the Orion spacecraft — including its optical navigation camera and the crew module’s external cameras — during the Artemis I mission. The full Moon image opening the post, and the view of the Moon and Earth’s atmosphere, were taken by our astronauts from aboard the @iss. Are you capturing the Moon tonight? 🌕 Tag your photo on Instagram with ...
