On 24 September, @eumetsatmedia’s MetOp-B and the Japan Meteorological Agency’s Himawari satellites captured these views of Ragasa swirling south of Hong Kong. Just days earlier, the super typhoon made landfall in the northern Philippines with winds up to 295 km/h — bringing evacuations, power cuts and severe disruption across several provinces. Now downgraded from super typhoon status, Ragasa has made landfall in southern China and continues to move west-northwest.
