Equal day. Equal night. Equal wonder. 🌍☀️ On 22 September 2025 at 20:19 CEST, Earth reaches its September equinox. From space, the divide between day and night runs perfectly pole to pole. From the ground, it means balance: day and night share the sky in equal measure. The word equinox comes from Latin aequus (equal) + nox (night) — a reminder that what feels poetic is also astronomical. Swipe through: 1. A Meteosat-12 view of Earth on 22 September 2025 at 08:00 CEST, showing the terminator line, straight as a ruler. 2. The Sun in motion, captured by our SOHO spacecraft from 21 June to 22 September 2025 in extreme ultraviolet light. Shown here through the “blue” filter at 171 Ångströms — a wavelength invisible to human eyes but perfect for revealing the Sun’s outer atmosphere in striking detail. As seasons shift and new chapters begin, what are you most looking forward to in the months ahead? 📸 @eumetsatmedia Meteosat Third Generation satellites – processed by @europeanspaceagen...
