π π Oceans are rising, and so is the need for unity, innovation, and access.
This
#WorldWaterWeek we spotlight the
#Space4Ocean Alliance, launched by UNOOSA & partners to help to ensure all countries, especially those most vulnerable, can use space data to protect their ocean resources.π
Why did we create the Alliance?
Because sea-level rise, marine pollution, and ecosystem loss affect us all, but the capacity to act remains unequal. Many countries on the front lines (small island developing states, least developed countries, coastal nations) still face barriers to accessing and using space-based tools.
The Space4Ocean Alliance unites space & marine communities to:
β
Identify pressing ocean data gaps
β
Deliver tailored satellite data and services
β
Build capacity where itβs needed most
27 organizations have already joined, including agenciaespacialbrasileira, cnes_france, europeanspaceagency, kenyaspaceagency, and unesco. And weβre just getting started!
